Active Expansion Projects
Somika Commodities Limited is in active growth mode — targeting a four-fold increase in production capacity through new mine developments, processing plant expansions and strategic greenfield exploration across Zambia.
Lusaka Expansion Phase II
Extension of our existing Lusaka North site targeting deeper oxide ore zones. The project will add 25,000 MT of copper cathode capacity per year and expand cobalt hydroxide production by 1,500 MT annually.
North-Western Gold Processing Plant
New dedicated gold and silver refinery adjacent to the North-Western Goldfields mine site. Will enable in-country refining of doré to 99.9% bullion, adding significant value before export.
Eastern Pegmatite Belt — Coltan & Tantalite
Greenfield development of multiple pegmatite outcrops in Zambia's Eastern Province. Target production of 500 MT/year of coltan and tantalite concentrate to serve growing global technology demand.
Manganese Ore Beneficiation Plant
New manganese ore beneficiation facility to upgrade run-of-mine ore from 38% to 52%+ Mn, significantly increasing the value of our manganese exports and opening new markets for battery-grade manganese.
