Our Policy

Compliance & Governance

Operating to the Highest Standards

Conflict-Free Minerals Policy

Somika Commodities Limited is fully committed to the responsible sourcing of minerals. We implement the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas. All our mine sites are in Zambia — a stable, democratic country — and are regularly audited to ensure zero linkage to conflict financing. We provide SEC Section 1502 Conflict Minerals compliance documentation on request.

Anti-Corruption & Ethics Policy

We operate a zero-tolerance policy on bribery and corruption in all its forms. Somika Commodities Limited is aligned with the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) and Zambia's Anti-Corruption Act. All employees, agents and business partners are required to adhere to our Code of Business Conduct, and violations are reported to the appropriate authorities.

Health & Safety Policy

The safety of our workforce is non-negotiable. We operate all mine sites and processing facilities under strict health and safety management systems compliant with Zambia's Mines Safety Act and international standards including ISO 45001. All workers receive mandatory safety training, and our lost-time injury frequency rate (LTIFR) is continuously monitored and reported.

Environmental Policy

Somika Commodities Limited operates in full compliance with the Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) regulations and international environmental standards. Our Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) are approved and regularly reviewed. We practice progressive mine rehabilitation, water recycling, dust suppression and emissions monitoring at all operational sites.

Human Rights Policy

We respect and uphold the human rights of our employees, contractors and the communities in which we operate, in accordance with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. We prohibit forced labour, child labour and discrimination of any kind. Our grievance mechanisms are accessible to all stakeholders.

Data Protection & Privacy Policy

Personal data collected through our website and business operations is processed lawfully, fairly and transparently in accordance with applicable data protection laws. We do not sell personal information to third parties and implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data security.
